How to prevent baby from rollover

Updated: Nov 14, 2022

Introduction

When you are a new parent, you want your child to be safe and healthy. SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) is one of the leading causes of infant death after their first year. SIDS occurs when an infant dies during sleep and no cause can be found (https://www.cdc.gov/sids/about-sids). This happens when the baby rolls over onto its stomach while sleeping and cannot breathe because it can't flip back over to its backside. So what do we do?

Donut pillow

There are lots of ways to prevent baby from rolling over for good, but some babies are more prone to rolling over than others. If your baby is at risk for rolling over and you don't want them to do so, there's one thing you can do: use a donut pillow. Donut pillows are wedge pillows that keep a baby's head elevated and prevent them from rolling over. They're also used as reflux prevention devices, since they help keep the stomach contents upright in their digestive tract instead of causing acid reflux into the esophagus (the tube that connects the mouth and stomach). If your child has trouble with this condition or if he seems like he might be on his way toward developing it, consider getting him a donut pillow as soon as possible!

Donut pillows are available in a wide variety of sizes, shapes and materials. Some are made from foam or memory foam; others are filled with cotton or polyester batting. You can find donut pillows that look like regular pillows as well as those that have different designs printed on them (such as Mickey Mouse). There are even inflatable donut pillows for traveling!

Rollover alarm

The rollover alarm is a useful device that can help prevent your baby from rolling over. When the baby is on his or her back, the alarm will not detect any movement, but if they roll over onto their stomachs, it will go off. The alarm is loud enough to wake you up and alert you that there is something wrong with your child – which is why many parents find it so useful!

The alarm works by automatically sensing when a child has rolled over. It then emits a loud beep for several seconds before shutting itself off again until it detects another movement. If this feature has been turned on (which it usually is), then once an alarm has gone off due to rolling over, no further ones will occur until after one second elapsed without any motion detected by the sensor (i.e., when lying still).

If this feature has been turned off however - allowing multiple alarms to go off at once even though only one may have occurred - then additional beeps will continue sounding until either: 1) another one occurs within 1 second of all previous ones ending; 2) manually turning them off via remote control application interface (RCAPI) software; 3) manually turning them off via buttons located on device itself."

Put baby in sleep sack (get a soft one)

Sleeping bags are great for keeping your baby warm at night. They also help keep them safe and quiet, which is especially important if you want to get some sleep yourself. A sleep sack is another option that can be used instead of a blanket or clothing.

If you're looking for an easy way to keep your child's body temperature regulated without having to worry about loose blankets, consider using a sleep sack instead!

They are safer for your child, especially if they have a tendency to kick off blankets while they sleep.

There are a lot of different options for keeping your baby warm at night, but if you're looking for a quick and easy fix that works well for all ages, consider using a sleep sack instead. They make it much easier to regulate your child's temperature without having to worry about loose blankets or clothing.

Play music (our baby likes the radio, especially the frequency to induce deep sleep)

If you want your baby to sleep, play the radio or a music player that has a volume control. The sound of voices is soothing and calming for babies, but it may cause them to stir if it's too loud. On the other hand, soft instrumental music combined with white noise can help your baby fall asleep—but be careful not to play it too loudly or for too long! If you're at home with your child during nap time and he/she starts waking up from his/her nap because of hunger pains, try feeding him/her some milk and then turning on some soothing music once again.

If you're at home with your child during nap time and he/she starts waking up from his/her nap because of hunger pains, try feeding him/her some milk and then turning on some soothing music once again. If you're out in public with your baby and he/she starts crying due to hunger pains, try taking him off the stroller or out of his carrier and walking around while holding him close to your chest.

Keep the space cool.

Keep the space cool.

  • To keep your baby comfortable, keep the room temperature at 65°F (18°C) or cooler.

  • Use a fan to help keep the room cool, especially if you live in a hot climate. If you can't use an air conditioner because it's too small for your home or apartment and you don't have central air conditioning, try placing a fan near where your baby sleeps; this will help circulate air throughout the room and increase comfort for all occupants of that space.

  • Keep your baby's crib away from direct sunlight so she doesn’t overheat while she sleeps.

  • Use light blankets to keep her comfortable on warm days—but make sure they aren't too thick or heavy! They should still allow enough cool air flow into her sleeping area so she doesn't get too hot while napping or sleeping through the night until she gets bigger enough not need them anymore (around 6 months old). You can also put one sheet over top of two blankets if it seems like there isn’t enough surface area coverage yet between fabric layers when covering up with just two sheets instead—just make sure everything is tucked securely underneath properly so there aren't any gaps where heat could escape through tiny holes created by loose threads sticking out from seams where corners meet either side-by-side edges together tightly before sewing them together securely once more after finishing stitching down seam allowances along each edge lengthwise towards bottom corners first then working upwards towards top corners afterwards so nothing catches inside there later on during washing cycles when coming out in cold weather conditions outdoors outside temperatures rise upwards quickly causing condensation buildup around windowsills causing condensate buildup indoors causing water damage inside walls etcetera...

Do this and prevent SIDS

There are several ways to prevent baby from rollover in bed. Most of the solutions can be implemented by using your own creativity, so if you have any ideas, share them with us!

Here is a list of things that might help prevent SIDS:

  • Rollover alarm. This device will go off when it senses movement or weight change in the crib and stop it from happening again until you reset it or turn off the alarm.

  • Donut pillow (also known as side sleeper). It’s basically a pillow that keeps your baby from rolling over during sleep on either side of his body while still allowing him to breathe freely through his nose while he sleeps at night or even during nap time!"

You can place this pillow along the side of your baby’s body and make sure it doesn’t go over his head. This is especially useful for babies who are just learning how to roll over, as they tend to move around in their sleep more often than older children do. Get a new mattress that fits snugly into your crib's frame, so there are no gaps between the mattress and sides of the crib where baby could get stuck between them or suffocate under them.
